Oh winsome, searching Nazarene youth,
Longing, thirsting for eternal truth;
Seeing the Great Law abused and distorted
Its noble intent manipulated and aborted.
Burdening Israel with Sabbath despair,
Thwarting the mission of healing care.

Wondering why mercy and justice lie cold,
When extolled by revered prophets of old.
Providing Israel's life with quality increase,
With coming Counselor, the Prince of Peace.

How Israel for salvation...
decreed freedom from Rome,
Rather than from God in the heavenly home.
Repeating the fatal action the prophets decried,
With truth and divine insight on their side.

Charmed by caravans and stars in the sky;
Hearing the martial beats...
of soldiers marching by.
Reveling in sports, raptured with family love,
While learning from Joseph and...
Heavenly Father above.

Journeying to Jerusalem and...
to the great Temple delight;
Amazing the scribes with His prophetic insight.
Inquiring of them prefaced with growing divine,
The coming learning of His Sonship with God...
before the beginning of time.
