Stephen P. "Steve" Ashton was born on November 12, 1948 in Youngstown, Ohio to Elizabeth (Powers) and Thomas Robinson Ashton. His siblings are Thomas Robinson Ashton, Jr., Nancy Mack, and James Lea Ashton.
Steve graduated from Findlay High School and attended Oberlin College.
Steve married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia (Kifer) Ashton, in 1971 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Findlay, Ohio. Officiating was his father and rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, Reverend Thomas Robinson Ashton. Steve and Cynthia's sons are Jonathan Ashton and James Ashton.
Steve was and Educator and Salesman. He retired from his sales career in 2014.
Steve and Cynthia were members of the Church of the Redeemer in Lorain, Ohio. Steve served on the Vestry and the whole family sang in the Choir. They recently moved to Maumee, Ohio to be close to their son Jonathan's family and joined St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Maumee, Ohio.
Steve was an avid reader and huge Cleveland sports fan. Steve and Cynthia travelled worldwide visiting the various places their son, United States Air Force Senior Master Sergeant James Ashton, and his family were stationed.
Steve died at the Ebeid Hospice Residence on August 16, 2023 in Sylvania, Ohio.
