Thomas M. (Tom) Ehni was born on March 19, 1935 to Ruth Lucile and John Millard Ehni. His sister is Barbara. According to the 1940 Census, Tom and his family including his grandfather, John F. Ehni, lived on Royalton Road in Toledo, Ohio. He then was 5 years old, his sister was a baby, his mother was 34, his father was 40, and his grandfather was 71.
He graduated from DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, Ohio in 1953. He went to the University of Michigan receiving a degree in Accounting.
Tom then served in the United States Navy for 2 years.
He returned to the University of Michigan receiving a Masters of Business Administration degree.
Tom met Molly Boyer (Garden Wall Niche 3A) during high school and attending Trinity Episcopal Church in Toledo, Ohio. Tom married Molly in 1957. His daughters are Karen Gautreaux and Marcia Wernet.
He worked at Owens Illinois at various midwest facilities for many years. Later he ran the family business of Newell B. Newton in Toledo.
Tom was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Maumee. Ohio
He enjoyed reading, collecting books, history, and art. He and Molly led several Toledo Art Museum trips.
Tom died on April 10, 2020 in Chicago, Illinois.
