Jonathan Ingle Clement was born on February 19, 1922 in New York, New York to Mabelle (Ingle) and Victor Clement. His brother is Franklin P. Clement.
He served 3 years in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a Radar Communications Instructor.
Jonathan married Palmer Louise Reuschle (Garden Wall Niche 3D) in 1947. Their daughters are Meredith Louise Clement, Cynthia Lee Haas, and Jenefer Denberg.
He graduated from New York University in 1949.
Jonathan had a 42 year career in sales promotion, merchandising, marketing, and public affairs.
He first worked in sales at his father's LaTouraine Company, Duffy-Mott Incorporated, and the Doughnut Corporation of America.
Jonathan then worked at Owens-Illinois for 33 years. He worked in field marketing in Baltimore and Atlanta. He then worked in merchandising management in Toledo, Ohio. He was Marketing Director of Europe in Geneva from 1966 to 1968. He then became Vice President and Director of Sales and Marketing of the International Division. He finally became State Government Relations Liaison. Jonathan retired from Owens-Illinois in 1983.
After retiring, he became a Government Relations Consultant at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
Jonathan was a Tutor and tutor trainer in the Read for Literacy program. He was the director of the Southside Y.M.C.A.
He was a member of the Toledo Museum of Art, Laurel Hill Tennis and Swim Club, and the Inverness Country Club. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Maumee, Ohio serving as Vestryman, Junior and Senior Warden.
He enjoyed fishing, tennis, golf, bridge, and history.
Jonathan died at Toledo Hospital on July 1, 1992 in Ohio.

"Wasn't it Jonathan Clement who painted the beautiful tiles of the church?
The J. Clement who created the tiles was local and I believe,
a member of St. Paul’s. I have a tile he created that is a view
of Maumee (River)."
