John 'Jack' Arthur Sanzenbacher Sr. was born on January 9, 1922 in Lucas County, Ohio to Mildred M. and Arthur J. Sanzenbacher. His brother is Richard Sanzenbacher.

He served in the United States Marine Corps.

Jack married Dolores Ruth Crawford in 1943. Their children are Linda Burns and John A. Sanzenbacher, Jr.

He worked at Libbey-Owens-Ford Company for 30 years. He became a Production Manager.

Jack was a 32 Degree Mason and a member of the Sanford Collins Masonic Lodge. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Maumee, Ohio.
