This website is a searchable likeness of the Memorial Garden and Columbarium at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Maumee, Ohio. It includes the 'Denise DeStatte Memorial Garden Wall' of niches, the 'North Garden Plaque' of names of those remembered but not interred, the 'East Garden Plaque' of names of those interred in the garden bed, the 'Gerry Womack Garden Tree', the 'Carillon Tower', the 'Columbarium' of niches, the 'Necrology Panels' listing departed parishioners, and 'Topics' concerning those departed.

This website's goal is to remember the lives of individuals in the memorial garden, columbarium, and on the necrology panels; locate the remains of departed parishioners; and enable virtual visits by those unable to physically visit the parish.

This website is designed as a pictorial map showing what an actual visitor would physically see. Visual appeal, simplicity, and uniformity are emphasized.

To find an individual's Memorial, follow the steps in the Search Example.


All links and only links are underlined with a solid line. Underlining is limited and done with a dotted line. Unless linking within the same webpage, the links open in a new tab or window which the user closes. Links to external webpages not on this Memorial Garden and Columbarium website are underlined in red.

A nameplate for each niche is on each quadrant of the plaque. Necrology Panels are annually displayed in the beginning of November for 'All Saint's Day'. They list parishioners who died within the parish in past years. Panels are named with their first listed year, a dash, and their last listed year. The years of the panel names may overlap.

The Necrology Panels 2021 link toward the bottom left of the main Memorial Garden and Columbarium web page is provided to show the Necrology Panels on All Saints Day, 2021. The Necrology Panels link toward the bottom right of the main page is provided to show the Necrology Panels on All Saints Day after 2021.

Select a range of Years toward the top of the 'Necrology Panels 2021' or 'Necrology Panels' pages to view panel images with those years. Use the back button to return to the top Years. Each panel image year-range name is shone at the top of the image. Select the panel image to fully view a panel. While fully viewing a panel, select the bottom down-triangle to view the top of the next chronological panel or select the top up-triangle to view the bottom of the previous panel. While fully viewing panels on the most recent 'Necrology Panels' page, select the small bottom maximum view to view panel at maximum size.

Columbarium Niche with Plate Individuals

The Individuals link is provided on the main Memorial Garden and Columbarium web page to show a 'last name' ordered list of individuals in the memorial garden and columbarium with their 'first middle names', 'last name', 'address', 'service', and 'memorial title'. The 'first middle names' do not include any title. Individuals whose interment is reserved or private with blank or no nameplates are not on the Individuals list. To best match the Memorial Garden and Columbarium, only those with mounted engraved nameplates are on the Individuals list.

The underlined 'address' is a link to the individual's memorial. An 'address' ending with a ditto " mark is a repeated address for an additional individual.

'service' in the military is signified by the served country's flag. Agency logos signify fire or police department service. Government logos signify government service. Hovering or long-pressing over a smaller service symbol will explain the service. Only one service is shown with priority given to military service.

Scrolling may be automatic or manual. During manual scrolling, a filter may be inputted to only show rows displaying the filter. An 'address⇕' with an ending ditto " mark is a repeated address for an additional individual. The 'first⇕' name does not include any prefix, title, middle initial, or middle name. The 'last⇕' name does not include any suffix. Individuals whose interment is reserved or private with blank or no nameplates are not on the Days list. To best match the Memorial Garden and Columbarium, only those with mounted engraved nameplates are on the Days list.

An individual's born and died dates are divided into mo month, dy day, and yr year. Within the born date, these are terminated and separated by a / slash. Within the died date, these are separated by a | vertical bar. The month has a leading _ underscore. The day has a trailing _ underscore. A value of 00 means the month or day is unknown.

Select 'select-filter' and input 1942/ to filter and only show individuals born in 1942. Input _01/ to only show individuals born in January. Input _12| to only show individuals who died in December. Select reload headers to return headers and the original view between different filtered viewings or when filtered viewing has been completed.

The popular Find a Grave website is the "world's largest gravesite collection". Many individuals in the Memorial Garden and Columbarium already had memorials on the 'Find a Grave' website before this Memorial Garden and Columbarium website was created. Changes to these existing 'Find a Grave' memorials have been made with information from this website. 'Find a Grave' memorials have been added for any interred individual in the Memorial Garden and Columbarium, not already on the 'Find a Grave' website. 'Find a Grave' memorials are to be maintained for all individuals interred in the Memorial Garden and Columbarium. 'Find a Grave' registration is free. Registered members of 'Find a Grave' may add new unique gravesite memorials and maintain them, request changes and additions to 'Find a Grave' memorials maintained by others, or add pictures and leave flowers on any 'Find a Grave' memorial.

Links to 'Find a Grave' Memorials for those Interred and just Remembered are provided on the main Memorial Garden and Columbarium web page at the bottom of 'Lists'. These link to two 'Find a Grave' virtual cemeteries. One containing only memorials of those interred. The other containing memorials of those not interred but just remembered in the memorial garden.

Church Flowers in Memoriam

The Church Flowers in Memoriam link is provided on the Topics page of the Memorial Garden and Columbarium website to show a list of departed individuals remembered with Sunday church flowers in reverse chronological order for the last twelve months.

For a Sunday there is a single line for each individual in memoriam. The line contains the sunday and date of the flowers, the type of flowers, the from parishioner providing the flowers, the individual in memoriam, the individual's relation to the 'from parishioner', and any comment.

sunday is its numeric position within the month shown with the month's first three letters. date is in mm/dd/yyyy format without leading zeroes. flowers are Altar, Chancel, Easter Lilies, Poin-settias, or an * asterisk if the individual 'in memoriam' has no flowers but is remembered as a passing in the church's Sunday bulletin.

An underlined individual in memoriam is a link to the individual's Memorial. An underlined comment is a link to pertinent information. Links to external webpages not on this Memorial Garden and Columbarium website are underlined in red. Select the link to view the Memorial or information in a new window.

Originally displayed but redundant sunday, date, flowers, from parishioner, or comment values are printed in white. Especially during 'filter' viewing, hover or select the line's white letters to darken the background to better view the letters. If the background does not darken, long press on any non-underlined screen value until a menu appears. Select 'select all' from the menu and all screen values will be highlighted. Select again and the highlighting will be removed.

Select the heading's sunday to return to the Sunday page of the Memorial Garden and Columbarium website.

For weeks when a large number of memorials occur, such as Christmas, Easter, and All Saints Day, the memorials are in separate webpages. When on one these pages, select the date to return to that date on the the main 'Church Flowers in Memoriam' webpage.

At the top of the page, a filter may be inputted to only show lines containing the filter. Select 'select-filter' and input Gallo to only show lines containing that name. Input 1/8/2023 to only show lines containing that date. Select reload headers to return headers and the original view when filtered viewing has been completed.

Claudia Stein of the Maumee, Ohio 'Burdo' family is a long time member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Maumee, Ohio, its Altar Guild, and as Altar and Chancel Flowers Coordinator. Select the flowers in the top heading to view the Church Flowers of Claudia Stein.

Parishioners choose the Sunday, whether Altar or Chancel Flowers, and usually departed family members to Memorialize. Claudia currently (2023) schedules and coordinates the flowers with parishioners and florists, beautifying the church and honoring those departed.

No copyright is shown on the Sesquicentennial Book. This differs from later church books published and copyrighted by Olan Mills. After 34 years, both the 20th CENTURY PUBLICATIONS and the RICK & SHARON MOORE entities appear to no longer exist. So the use of the 20th CENTURY PUBLICATIONS' photographs is being made but for no profit and with credit given to their source.

Other pictures from the 'Find a Grave' or funeral home websites or obituaries may be used but with credit always given to their source.

Monday, August 1, 2024, Reverend Mark Jukes Death Day Morning

On August 1, 1854, the rector of our parish, the Reverend Richard Jukes, died of cholera while serving our parish and community. Two days later his wife, Harriet, also died of cholera. Their youngest son, Andrew, died in infancy before the cholera came. Mark and Harriet's other children, Georgina, Lucy, Worthington, Andrew, Marianne, Henry, and Mark, escaped the cholera initially moving to Canada to live with their grandmother after their parents died.
