Edward 'Ted' Oliver Lamb was born on April 23 1901 in Toledo, Ohio to Mary (Gross) and Clarence M. Lamb. His siblings are Chester Daniel Lamb, Alice Metzger, Clarence Milo Lamb, Esther Lucke, Lynn Frank Lamb, Leighton Glenn Lamb, Mrs. Wickenden and two others.

Ted graduated from Waite High School in Toledo, Ohio. He entered Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire in 1920 and graduated. He attended Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut and Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He received a juris doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio and became a Lawyer in 1927. He held honorary degrees from Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio; Gannon College in Erie, Pennsylvania; and Dartmouth College.

Ted married Prudence (Hutchinson) Lamb on June 21, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio. Their children are Priscilla (Lamb) (Guyton - 04-03 ) Schwier and Edward Hutchinson Lamb.

Ted was the Assistant Counsel for Toledo, Ohio in 1928. He opened his private practice in Corporate Law in 1929.

Ted became a Labor Lawyer in 1934 and continued in labor law through the 1940's. He represented workers during the 1934 "Onion Fields Strike" in McGuffey, Ohio; the 1937 "Little Steel Strike" in Ohio; the 1937 "Shoe Workers Strike" in Portsmouth, Ohio; and the 1938 "United States Gypsum Company Strike" in Port Clinton, Ohio. He won the 1946 "Portal to Portal" United States Supreme Court Case, Anderson versus Mt. Clemens Pottery Company, for workers to be paid for job preparation time.

Ted was also a businessman with offices in the Edward Lamb Building in Toledo, Ohio. He acquired ownership of radio stations, television stations, newspapers, and more than 55 manufacturing and financial concerns. They included WICU-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania; WTVN-TV in Columbus, Ohio; Nevada National Bancorporation; Air-Way Electric Appliance Corporation in Toledo, Ohio; and the Seiberling Rubber Company in Akron, Ohio.

Ted was a 'Humanist' and signed the Humanist Manifesto II of 1973 along with Julian Huxley, Isaac Asimov, and Betty Friedan.

Ted lectured on business management. He was also an author writing the autobiographical 'No Lamb for Slaughter', 'Planned Economy of Soviet Russia', 'Trial by Battle', and the 'Sharing Society'.

Ted was a trustee of the United Nations Association. He campaigned for world trade among all nations regardless of their social structure.

In 1969, Ted was chairman of Pope John XXIII International Institute, an ecumenical agency combating racism and poverty and promoting world peace.

Ted was a director of the Martin Luther King Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a longtime friend and supporter of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement.

Ted funded Band Concerts at the Toledo Zoo in 1961. He donated a rare 16th century copy of the Magna Carta to the Carlson Library at the University of Toledo in 1977. For Ted and his wife's support of Metroparks Toledo, the shelter house at Side Cut Metropark in Maumee, Ohio was dedicated as the 'Lamb Heritage Center' in 1986.

He collected fine art and autographs of famous people.

Ted continued to serve as President and Chairman of the Board of his Great Lakes Communications, Incorporated until his death. He died at home on March 23, 1987 in Maumee, Ohio.

Ted's estate endowed the 'Edward Lamb Foundation, Incorporated' of Maumee and Perrysburg, Ohio to foster better relations among people and nations.

Prudence 'Prue' Lamb was born on December 27, 1904 in Toledo, Ohio's Old West End to Alice P. and Harry Leonidas Hutchinson. Her sister is Helen O'Shea.

Prue attended Fulton Elementary School and graduated from the Smead School for Girls (Maumee Valley Country Day School) in 1923. She graduated from Smith College in Northhampton, Massachusetts in 1927, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

Prue married Edward Oliver Lamb on June 21, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio. Their children are Priscilla (Lamb) (Guyton - 04-03 ) Schwier and Edward Hutchinson Lamb.

Prue was an officer of the Maumee Valley Historic Society. She was largely responsible for restoring and opening the Wolcott House as a museum in 1961.

Prue loved gardening. She was a member of the Maumee Garden Club for 45 years, helping plant crab apple trees along the Anthony Wayne Trail and flowers along Conant and Wayne Streets in Maumee, Ohio. In 1986, the shelter house at Side Cut Park in Maumee, Ohio was dedicated as the 'Lamb Heritage Center' for Prue and Ted's commitment to Metroparks Toledo.

Prue was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Maumee, Ohio. She loved working at the church's rummage sales, rarely missing one for 50 years.

Prue died at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio on December 30, 2005 in Perrysburg, Ohio.
