Pauline Phelps Secor was born on October 8, 1899 in Dayton, Ohio to Laura Louise (Weitz) and Walter Fry Phelps. Her brother is Merrick Weitz Phelps.

She graduated from Smith College in Massachusetts.

Pauline married James Jay Secor II. Their children are Paula Paterson and James J. Secor, Jr.

She was on the Toledo District Nurse Association Board of Trustees, serving as recording secretary, treasurer, and president from 1942 to 1948.

Pauline was also president of the Planned Parenthood League and the Toledo Women's Club. She was a member of the Society for Crippled Children.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Maumee, Ohio. In the early 1960's, Pauline completed the first two of the over 200 colored needlepoint kneeler cushions made by the women of St. Paul's.

Pauline died at home on November 1, 1961 in Perrysburg, Ohio.
