Actress and Teacher
Patricia 'Pat' Louise Rudes was born on July 14, 1930 in Piqua, Ohio to Gladys (Shellenbarger) and Raymond E Boller, Jr. Her younger brothers are Raymond Boller, III; Harry 'Hank' Boller; and Michael Boller.
She attended Sydney High School in Sydney, Ohio from 1945 to 1948.
Pat attended Bowling Green State University from 1948, graduating on July 8, 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Radio. She acted in university plays, was special events editor for the university's Key newspaper, and worked on the university's radio staff. She was a member of university's Cinema Club and Student Christian Fellowship. She was a member of the Theta Alpha Phi, Rho Sigma Mu, Mortar Board, Alpha Gamma Delta societies.
She took one graduate course at Bowling Green State University in Theatre. Pat took a course in Piano Pedagogy (teaching methods) at University of Toledo in 1981.
Pat married James Alan Rudes on July 9, 1952 in Shelby, Ohio. Their daughters are Elizabeth Ann Rudes, Tracy E. Dove, and Amy Walton.
First, she was a Secretary and Receptionist at the Speech and Hearing Therapy Department, Bowling Green State University from May of 1952 to May of 1953 and at the Shell Oil Company from June of 1953 to June of 1954.
Pat has been an Actress and Piano Teacher since 1957. In 1991, she taught Drama at the Maumee Senior Center.
She was a co-founder of the Maumee Civic Theatre around 1970.
Pat resided in Maumee, Ohio. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Maumee, Ohio. She was the long-standing head of the Book Department at St. Paul's Rummage Sales. View the 1961 Lenten Prayer written by Pat Rudes.
Pat died at her daughter, Tracy's, home on May 2, 2023 in Hampton, Virginia.
